Thurs Feb 18 Old Log Theater “The Dixie Swim Club” Depart: 12:30PM Cost: $17.50/ticket Five Southern women, whose friendship began on their college swim team, set aside a long weekend each year to recharge that friendship. Free from husbands, kids, and jobs, they meet every August at the same beach cottage on North Carolina's Outer Banks to laugh, catch up, and meddle in each other's lives. The Dixie Swim Club focuses on four of those weekends over a span of thirty-three years and demonstrates the power of teamwork and the strength of love. Outside Guests Welcome! Special envoys can help bring attention and diplomatic muscle to resolve conflicts and global challenges but they also bring with them their own "special" problems. Will the Obama administration's reliance on special envoys increase the ability of the U.S. to deal with major international issues or complicate our diplomatic options? Thurs Feb 25 Winter Adventure with Norwegian Immigrant Speaker & Lunch Depart: 9:45AM Cost: $16 includes meal & entertainment Outside Guests Must RSVP or Sign up by February 15 with Paula (952) 540-6212 Join us for a winter adventure as we head out to the Baker Near Wilderness Lodge for a day of great entertainment and food. The event takes place in a wonderful log cabin equipped with real fireplace and bird feeders set up around the outside for birdwatcher’s delight. The events for the day include two guest speakers:A Naturalist will talk about the history of the Three Rivers Park program in the metro area, and an actor and historian Ole Oleson will depict what it was like to be a Norwegian Immigrant who came to America in the 1880’s. Lunch will include Chicken Wild Rice Soup, Ham Sandwich and Chocolate Brownies for Dessert.
